TULSA, Oklahoma – He had done it all year long, but not on a stage as large as the 5A title game. When the lights shined the brightest, Booker T. Washington’s senior standout shined his brightest, in a 32-3 blowout of the rival East Central Cardinals.
Isaac Bennett rushed for 222 yards on 27 carries against East Central. He ran for two touchdowns and even threw for the team’s final score of the day in the fourth quarter.
In the championship game, Bennett outplayed his counterpart, Daunte Burge, who had a big year for East Central as well. Burge rushed for more yards this season, but Bennett bettered him in yards per carry and touchdowns.
