TULSA, Oklahoma -- One of 2010’s biggest stories – the Lawton Wolverines’ successful season – came to an end on Friday at the hands of the Union Redskins.
Union needed two overtimes, however, to take down the Wolverines 48-41 and advance to the 6A finals.
The Redskins led 34-24 in the second half but Lawton scored 10 straight points to force an overtime period.
Both teams managed a touchdown in the first overtime to knot the score at 41 and force a second extra period.
Union scored on a one-yard run to take a seven-point lead in the second overtime, then sacked the Wolverines on fourth down to seal the win.
The Redskins (12-1) have won 11 straight and will face Jenks for the 6A State Championship next weekend.
