OKLAHOMA CITY—This year’s 2010 High School Basketball Media Day gave us the first look at this year’s top talent from all classes across the state of Oklahoma.
But this year wasn’t all business and no play. This time around CoachesAid.com and Oklahoma Sports decided to bring the court competition to Media Day courtesy of the free throw stripe.
The challenge? Who can make the most free throws in a row?
In the ladies division, Western Heights’ Kashyla Fields beat the competition with 30 consecutive free throws to take the division.
Fields, a five-foot-ten-inch senior and returning starter for the Jets actually shot the most free throws out of both boys and girls players.
Kashayla and the Western Heights Jets are ranked fifth overall in the CoachesAid.com preseason top 20 rankings.
For the guys, Lindsay’s Mason Baade hit 25 free throws in a row topping all other competitors in the category.
Baade, a five-foot-eleven-inch senior, will be a big part of the Leopards returning veteran squad this season.
Both winners put up impressive shots, but to be honest Okemah’s girls coach Robert Lancaster put all the kids to shame.
Find out how many charity stripe shots Coach Lancaster made in a row to drown the competition here.
