Class C’s playoff competition continues this week, and below are three games you can’t miss.

Temple at Deer Creek-Lamont: There’s no question that it’s exciting to watch the only remaining undefeated team play, but then again it only takes one game to change that. Deer Creek Lamont is that undefeated team and although they have trampled over their past opponents and they are the home team this game, we must remember, it’s the playoffs. The Temple Tigers have only one loss on the season against Tipton, and are definitely a team to watch this round. Deer Creek averages 294.3 rushing yards per game and 93.3 through the air per game. Temple has a chance at an upset if they limit the Eagles, while also scoring points of their own. Getting defensive stops is big, but you have to get on the board early against Deer Creek-Lamont in order to generate momentum.

Covington-Douglas at Tipton: These two teams both sit at 10-1 entering this game. The interesting fact about this matchup is that Tipton’s one loss on the season thus far was against Covington-Douglas by a final of 58-36 in week four. This creates motivation for both teams. Covington-Douglass feels the pressure to not only win for a second time, but to win to advance further in the playoffs. Tipton’s motivation comes from week four’s road game that added one to their loss column. I say this time around Tipton has a huge advantage being the home team in this game-- buckle your seatbelts, this one could be a wild ride.

Shattuck at Maud: Maud has scored more than 45 points in all but one game this season. If you compare the total number of points scored by each team in last four games, there is only a four point difference. Maud has scored 188 combined points on their last four opponents while Shattuck has scored 182. In the first round of playoff play the margin of victory was also slim for both teams. Maud beat Medford 46-40 while Shattuck beat Ryan 38-30. Like the other two games to watch in this class, I think home field advantage will play a big part in this game as well.
