YUKON, Oklahoma – In a back-and-forth game, Edmond North was able to hang on and advance against the Yukon Millers, 28-21 on Friday.

The Millers had a chance to tie it up, but receiver Kollin Retter fumbled the ball out the back of the Huskies’ end zone and North ran out the clock.

Both teams scored touchdowns in the first quarter before Yukon started scoring unconventionally. The Millers posted back-to-back safeties to take an odd 11-7 lead.

Edmond North’s Jarion Tudman struck back with a score to put the Huskies up 14-11 early in the third quarter.

Yukon (8-3) answered with a field goal before North posted another touchdown to go up 21-14. But the Millers tacked on another score at the end of the third to tie the contest at 21.

But the Huskies owned the fourth quarter, scoring the go-ahead touchdown and holding on on the defensive side to secure a spot in the second round.

North (6-5) will now travel to Tulsa Union for its second round matchup on Friday at 7:30.
