BETHANY, Oklahoma—The Bethany Bronchos took the spirit stick honors for week eight not only for their performance on the field, but also for their community service.
Week seven’s matchup between Bethany and Kingfisher was dubbed the “Childrens Center Bowl” and both schools teamed up to help the kids at the pediatric hospital through raising donations and by paying a special visit to some of the kids.
Regardless of what happened on the field, both teams helped put smiles of the faces of young sports fans like Luke Medcalf who got to be an honorary captain for the game.
All in all, the teams helped raise more than $6,500 for the center, perhaps an even bigger accomplishment than Bethany’s 27-12 win.
