TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Union won its fifth-straight game and denied Ponca City a winning streak of its own in a 47-7 victory on Friday.
Ponca City pulled off a tight victory last week against Stillwater – its first of the year – but couldn’t keep up with the Union Redskins.
Union started off the game on the right foot, taking back the opening kick return for a touchdown and a quick 7-0 lead.
The Redskins then rattled off 35 more straight to take a 42-0 halftime lead.
The Wildcats managed their only score of the night early in the third quarter, but Union finished off the game with its second safety and a field goal to wrap up a 37-point margin.
Tulsa Union (6-1, 4-1) will host the Bartlesville Bruins next week while Ponca City (1-6, 1-3) will travel to Sand Springs.
