MUSTANG, Oklahoma – The Mustang Broncos won their third consecutive game Friday 59-41 in a shootout with the Putnam City Pirates.
The Broncos (5-2, 3-1) got off to a tough start in the district opener with a 30-29 loss to Lawton, but have now won their three games since to keep their playoff chances looking good.
Meanwhile, Putnam City (5-2, 2-2) has lost two of its last three games despite scoring more than 30 points both times. The Pirates now sit in a tie for fourth place in the district with three games left in the season.
PCO will try to keep its playoff hopes alive next week against Westmoore (4-3, 3-1), while Mustang will face U.S. Grant (0-7, 0-4).
