CHICKASHA, Oklahoma -- It's been almost a week since Chickasha High School football player Kody Turner collapsed during practice. He died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital.
The city of Chickasha is still struggling with his death, and one downtown business has a plan to preserve Turner's memory and help his family at the same time.
Liberty Drug is accepting orders for t-shirts that say "Chickasha Football" on the front--and have Turner's name and number on the back.
Tobi Neidy of Liberty Drug designed the shirt.
"I love making t-shirts, and I think it's one of the biggest things that people can actually see, buy, purchase and enjoy wearing to support something like this," Neidy said.
So far over three dozen orders for the shirts have come in. Neidy is expecting a delivery on Friday, just in time for fans to wear them to Chickasha's game against Durant Friday night.
"I thinkit'swonderful. I think any way that we can do something in honor of this boy. This has been the saddest thing I believe that's ever happened in the city of Chickasha," Chickasha resident Fran Morris said.
