Heritage Hall Chargers Top Clinton Red Tornadoes
The Chargers got yet another big performance from Barry Sanders in the double-digit win.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Heritage Hall Chargers defeated Clinton Friday 37-17 behind the play of Barry Sanders.
Sanders finished with one rushing and one receiving touchdown.
The Chargers hit the scoreboard first when Cooper Cloud hit Sanders in stride for a 31 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Sanders extended the Chargers lead to 14-0 with a 48 yard td run in the first quarter.
Clinton capitalized on a long kickoff return, and running back Saul Pina punched it in from the two yard to cut the Chargers’ lead to 14-7.
Heritage Hall responded in the first quarter thanks to a gadget play on 3rd and long. Sterling Shephard appeared to be in punt formation, but aired it out instead and connected with Cooper Cloud on a 55-yard touchdown pass. Heritage Hall took a 21-7 lead into the second quarter.
Clinton finished the second quarter by scoring 10 straight points. The Red Tornadoes kicked a field goal late in the first half to cut the Chargers’ lead to 24-17.
After a scoreless third quarter, Heritage Hall scored two late 4th quarter touchdowns to put the game away.
Sanders finished with 134 rushing yards as Heritage Hall improved to 2-0 and Clinton fell to 1-1.
