NORMAN, Oklahoma -- More than 30 schools are teaming up with First Lady Kim Henry and former Heisman winners Steve Owens, Billy Sims and Jason White to increase awareness about cancer.
Students will work with a new program, Win-Win, to draw attention to cancer and raise funds for Oklahoma’s cancer patients.
The schools will develop creative ways to raise money, using athletic events and other means, and will be competing against other schools in their class for a trophy presented by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association.
Schools can host “Pink Outs” to bring awareness to cancer in Oklahoma, which is the second leading cause of death in the Sooner State.
Proceeds from Win-Win, which runs through September 13-17, will go to benefit cancer patients and their families.
