CARNEGIE, Oklahoma -- With the best record last season (9-3) among this year’s District A-3 competitors, Carnegie should be the team to beat heading into 2010.

The two names to watch for are Taaron Barcum and Cameron Nix. Barcum is an athlete who will play some quarterback, some running back and factor into the return game. He notched over 1,000 yard passing and 1,000 yards rushing last season.

Most of the snaps under center will likely go to the junior Nix, who threw for 1,451 yards and 19 touchdowns a year ago.

Wide receiver Chandler Pettit is another one of the team’s seven returning starters, while defensive end Ryan Reid heads up the returning seven starters on the defensive.

With all that firepower, head coach Roger Hoeltzel should have plenty of options and high expectations this season.
