EDMOND, Oklahoma -- When things don’t go as planned, you always need a backup plan.
For Edmond Memorial quarterback Kameron Doolittle, Plan B is pretty simple.
“Coach [Justin] Meredith always tells me, in the worst case scenario just tuck it and run,” said Doolittle.
His backup plan served him well in his junior season. The Bulldogs’ dual-threat quarterback rushed for more than 1,000 yards and six touchdowns to lead Edmond Memorial to the state quarterfinals.
Despite his heroics on the field, they’re not what have impressed his coaches the most going into his final season with the Bulldogs.
“He’s worked even harder in the summer to get even better,” said Meredith. “I’m proud of him for that.”
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing in at 195 pounds, Doolittle has offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Tulsa and Wyoming, but is holding out for offers from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Projected as a receiver at the next level, his skills with the ball in his hands will come in handy.
“You’re not going to arm tackle the guy,” said Meredith. “That’s what a lot of people don’t realize.”
