HENNESSEY, Oklahoma -- A Hennessey baseball coach was charged with 15 felony counts, including second degree rape, rape by instrumentation and lewd molestation by the Kingfisher District Attorney Friday. Michael Howard Conway is accused of having sexual relations with an underage girl over a period of five years from 2001-2006.
According to a court affidavit obtained by Oklahoma Sports, the girl was an eighth grade student when Conway first had a sexual encounter with her. The sexual relationship continued until the summer after her graduation.
The Enid News and Eagle reported the 51-year-old resigned as the school’s baseball coach a couple of hours before he was arrested. Conway was arrested Thursday at a Kingfisher car dealership, and a judge denied his bail.
