OKLAHOMA CITY -- Defending state champs Pawnee had little trouble advancing to the 2A girls state championship defeating Washington 64-45.
Pawnee jumped out to a 37-15 lead at half and never looked back.
The Lady Black Bears were led by senior point guard Britney Morgan who finished with 21 points.
“Britney Morgan is the best player I have ever coached,” Pawnee head coach Justin Brown said. “She does everything we need her to do, handles the ball, passes the ball shoots the ball, but she is surrounded by great people and she'd be the first one to tell you that.”
Pawnee will now face Dale in the 2A Girls state finals at 10:30 a.m. Pawnee defeated Dale in the area finals 46-40 in overtime just one week ago.
“They're a very good team, very well coached. Kinda a little bit of a rival the last three or four years so we're gonna have to show up and bring our best game,” Brown said.
