CHOCTAW, Oklahoma -- The Mustang Broncos rose to the challenge and almost pulled off the upset over No. 1 Edmond Santa Fe. Josh Richardson finished with 16 points and helped the Timberwolves defeat the Broncos 60-50 at Choctaw High School Saturday.
The victory gave the Timberwolves an invitation to the 6A boys’ state tournament in Tulsa.
Mustang and Edmond Santa Fe entered the fourth quarter tied at 33, but the Timberwolves turned it up a notch and scored 27 points in the fourth quarter to hold off the upset-minded Broncos.
David Glidden had a great game for the Broncos, leading all scorers with 23 points.
