NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Okarche Warriors overcame a slow start to defeat Turpin 42-39 Thursday and advance to the Class A state semifinals.
Turpin started the game on a 9-1 run and led by three going into halftime, but the Warriors fought back to retake the lead. Okarche’s Jabe Karr hit four consecutive free throws in the final minute to hold off a late surge and seal the win.
Jacob Moffat led all scorers with 13 for the Warriors. Karr finished with 11 points, nine of which came in the fourth quarter.
Cale Longhofer led the Cardinals with 11 points.
