TULSA, Oklahoma -- Booker T. Washington used a big second half effort to turn a halftime tie into an 80-61 win over McLain on Tuesday night.
Tharone Chilton led the way for Booker T. Washington with 21 points.
It was a tight contest in the first eight minutes, with both teams trading baskets. By the end of the first quarter, Booker T. Washington led 15-14.
The Hornets and Titans had opportunities to take control of the game in the second quarter, but neither team could pull away. After McLain went up 20-17, Booker T. Washington stormed back and took a 26-22 lead on a Myles Clark 3-pointer. McLain controlled the game in the final four minutes, though, and went into the break tied with the Hornets.
That would be all for the Titans, however. The second half belonged to Booker T. Washington, which outscored the Titans 46-27 over the final two periods.
Booker T. Washington will look to continue its winning ways against Jenks in the first round of the Jenks/Union Invitational on Thursday. The Titans will try to rebound when they take on Central.
