SHAWNEE, Oklahoma -- It was a close matchup in the first round of the Pottawatomie County Tournament when No. 5 Earlsboro took on No. 4 Asher.
Earlsboro lead most of the game, but Asher took the lead early in the fourth quarter. With under five minutes left in the game, Earlsboro’s Austin Hopper hit a shot to give his team the final lead of 50-43.
Hopper would end the game with 15 points, while his teammate Dion Wild scored 14 points.
Asher’s Matt Johnson and freshman Zac Fowler both scored 15 points for their team. Fowler put up 14 of those points in the second half, including 12 in the third quarter alone.
Earlsboro will progress to play top-seeded Tecumseh.
