OKLAHOMA CITY -- Four quarters was not enough to crown a champion in the McGuinness Classic as the host Irish needed overtime to pull out a 66-58 victory over Carl Albert.

Joe Edmonds and Kevin Caruthers each had 18 points for Bishop McGuinness.

Caruthers hit a 3-pointer to put the Irish on top 52-49 with 32 seconds left in regulation. McGuinness had a chance to ice the game but a backcourt violation gave the Titans new life.

Caleb Price made McGuinness pay by knocking down a triple with five seconds left to tie the game at 52. The Irish failed on their last second shot attempt.

The Irish received two big breaks when Titan’s coach Jay Price received a technical while protesting a foul call. Patrick Daneshmand converted his And-1 while Caruthers connected on one-of-two technical foul free throws.

Larry Cunningham led the Titans with 16 points.

The Irish outscored the Titans 14-6 in the extra frame. The victory marked just the fifth time in 50 years McGuiness won its own tournament.
