Bishop McGuinness Advances to Championship

The Fighting Irish will play for the Championship in their own tournament after defeating Deer Creek.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish used a big second half to defeat Deer Creek 69-46 Friday night. Zach Murphy led McGuinness with 17 points while Joe Edmonds and Kevin Caruthers added 13 apiece for the Irish.

Deer Creek was led by Jurrell Calloway’s 16 points. The Antlers trailed 32-25 at the half but were hampered by free throw shooting, going 10-of-31 for the game.

The Irish will play Carl Albert Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. for the championship of the McGuinness Classic. Deer Creek will face Edmond North for third place at 6 p.m.
