Big Second Half Lifts Dewey Past Claremore Sequoyah

The Bulldoggers doubled their first half output in the second half and won the 7th place game of the Oologah High School Basketball Tournament by double digits.

OOLOGAH, Oklahoma -- The Dewey Bulldoggers used a strong second half effort against Claremore Sequoyah to win the 7th place game of the Oologah High School Basketball Tournament, 56-45.

Claremore Sequoyah jumped out to a 24-18 lead in the first half with hot shooting, but the Bulldoggers took over after the break and finished with 38 second half points.

Senior guard Jerry Dozier led the way for Dewey with 15 points. Twin brothers Clint and Casey Strate each notched 13 for the Bulldoggers.

Cale Owens finished with 14 for Claremore Sequoyah and Brett Price added 10.

The Eagles will have an opportunity for revenge on Jan. 12 when they travel to Dewey for the first of two regular season meetings between the schools.
