OKLAHOMA CITY – After the Putnam City Invitational was delayed one day because of weather, the Midwest City Bombers opened tournament play Friday with a 74-58 victory over Lawton Eisenhower.
Midwest City (6-2) jumped out to a big lead as the game began and finished the first quarter up 16-4. The Bombers extended the lead further in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 41-25 lead.
Lawton Ike was never able to recover from its huge early deficit and never gave Midwest City much of a challenge. Midwest City junior guard Trez Colbert led all scorers with 22 points, while Zach Brown led the Eagles with 11 points.
The Bombers’ win moves them on to the second round, where they will face the winner of the Putnam City-Stillwater game at 6 p.m. Saturday.
