PORTER, Oklahoma – The Canton Tigers ended Porter’s undefeated season in the second round of the playoffs Friday with a 38-16 victory.
Canton quarterback Colby Haigler started the scoring for the Tigers with a touchdown run. He later added a touchdown pass to Josh Taylor, and the special teams added two points thanks to a snap that went over the head of Porter punter Austin Taber for a safety.
The Tigers – whose only loss of the season came to defending champion Garber – defeated its two playoff opponents by a combined score of 99-30.
The Tigers will attempt to end another team’s undefeated season next week when they face Ryan in the semifinals. Ryan has struggled in the first two rounds, winning both games by a touchdown or less.
