EDMOND, Oklahoma -- For all the bedlam that was Edlam, one play decided the rivalry.

After a one-handed grab by Matt Leavell brought the score to 14-13, Wolves’ head coach Bruce Gowen shocked both sidelines by opting to go for the win. Though quarterback Will Long’s 2-point conversion attempt was intercepted by Bulldogs cornerback Ricky Lawyer, securing a win for Edmond North.

After a kickoff return for a touchdown brought the Bulldogs’ lead to 14-0 in the second half, Edmond Santa Fe regained control of the game. Quarterback Will Long ran in the other Wolves score to cut the deficit in half and connected with Leavell on the other score, but Edmond Santa Fe came one point shy of giving Gowen his first win as head coach.

Edmond Santa Fe endures Edlam part two next week as the team plays Edmond Memorial Friday night.
