TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma -- Rangers with the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission have recovered the body of a Broken Arrow man who drowned on the Illinois River.
Kevin Yates, 27, was floating with a group of friends when he went under around 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Canoeists and rafters found his body Monday morning.
Initial reports indicate Yates was not wearing a life-jacket and may have been drinking during his rafting trip, according to an OSRC release.
He's the sixth person to drown on the Illinois River since Memorial Day.
