TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa starter Rob Scahill kept the Arkansas offense in check Sunday, leading the Drillers to a 5-2 win over the Travelers to close the four-game series.
Scahill (7-7) pitched five innings for Tulsa (43-49), giving up just four hits and striking out four in the win. The Drillers staff combined to give up just seven hits and two earned runs, both coming on a two-run home run in the top of the ninth by Arkansas (49-40) center fielder Clay Fuller.
Arkansas started Eddie McKiernan (4-8), who came away with a loss, giving up nine hits and five earned runs in 5.1 innings of service.
Tulsa scored its first run in the bottom of the third thanks to a solo home run by Brian Rike to take a one-run lead. Wilin Rosario tacked on another solo shot in the bottom of the fifth to give Tulsa a 2-0 advantage.
An RBI single from Ben Paulsen in the bottom of the fifth and a pair of RBI doubles in the sixth made it a five-run lead for Tulsa heading into the seventh inning.
The Drillers will now start a four-game road trip against the Springfield Cardinals, starting at 7:07 p.m. Monday.
