TULSA, Oklahoma -- The city of Tulsa believes heat played any role in a water main break in downtown Tulsa early Tuesday morning.
Bob Bledsoe says this break is one of four reported in the city on Tuesday. Since last week, the city has seen 46 water main breaks.
The water main break at Detroit and Brady was reported at about 2 a.m..
Bledsoe says in 2010, the city had 46 water main breaks in the first week of July alone and 23 the following the week.
He says Tulsa is seeing a little more than the normal number, but it has not seen the extreme spike that the city of Tulsa sometimes see when weather is really hot or really cold.
Crews were called out and repaired the leak.
