TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Fire believes an arsonist is responsible for the destruction of a North Tulsa home late Sunday night.

Firefighters were called out about 9:45 p.m. to the home in the 2200 block of North Lewis.

When they arrived, they found a 2-story vacant house on fire.

The Tulsa Fire Department says this fire is the latest to take place in an area where investigators believe someone is setting fires.  Investigators are asking residents to be alert to anything suspicious, especially at vacant homes.

"If you've got any homes near you that are vacant, if you see anybody strange out there, that doesn't belong in that area. Please call the police department or call our arson hotline and we can alert someone so we can get this guy off the street, if in case that was an arson fire," said Tulsa firefighter Tim Smallwood.

The arson hotline is 918- 596-ARSN (2776).
