ROGERS COUNTY -- The hot temperatures and lack of rain is putting extra pressure on water systems across the state.

Rogers County's rural water District Number Three, which covers areas of Owasso, Collinsville, Claremore, Chelsea, and Foyil is asking its customers to conserve water.

They say the extra usage is causing extremely low water pressure for a lot of people.

"We can't stress strongly enough how important it is for everyone to conserve water so all customers have water during this time," a statement read on their website.

Residents are urged to help conserve water by considering the following:

  • Do not wash vehicles.
  • Wait until late nights or very early mornings for laundry.
  • Cut down as much as possible on landscape and garden watering. If you must, use only what is absolutely necessary and wait until late night or early morning.
