TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa firefighter was injured by a burning ember at a house fire on North Harvard Wednesday afternoon.

The older log home in the 3300 block of North Harvard was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived just before 2 p.m. Crews were inside and had to be pulled back when parts of the roof started to collapse.

Due to the heat, crews of firefighters were rotated into duty in 10-minute intervals.

A burning ember lodged underneath a firefighter's bunker coat and burned her neck. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

The home belongs to a retired firefighter, according to Tim Smallwood with the TFD.

No one was home at the time of the blaze.
