TULSA, Oklahoma – The Drillers have not had a good start to the month of July.
Tulsa picked up its fifth straight loss to start out the first five days of the month in an 11-3 contest against San Antonio on Tuesday.
Two of the usual suspects got their teams on the board early. San Antonio's Blake Tekotte, who helped lead a Missions comeback the previous night, homered in the second at-bat of the game to put his team up 1-0.
But Tulsa's Thomas Field responded in the bottom of the inning with his 12th homer of the year to tie it up.
San Antonio took over from there, putting up six straight unanswered runs.
The Drillers' other two runs came in the bottom of the sixth on a throwing error and an RBI double from Darin Holcomb.
The Missions followed that blip up with four more runs for good measure.
Tulsa's Rob Scahill picked up the loss while San Antonio pitcher Juan Oramas moved to 5-0 on the year.
Tulsa has Wednesday off before hitting the road to Corpus Christi on Thursday. The first pitch of that series is set for 7:05 p.m.
