TULSA, Oklahoma – A police officer spotted a fire early Monday morning after pulling someone over for a traffic stop in Tulsa.
The officer noticed an orange glow around 3:15 a.m. near Pine and Cheyenne. When he went to investigate, he found a vacant home engulfed in flames.
The officer summoned backup and the Tulsa Fire Department. They evacuated surrounding homes as a precaution. The flames did spread to another house on one side, and to a daycare on the other.
The house was destroyed. The daycare and the other home were damaged. At least one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion, but no one was seriously hurt.
Fire investigators don't know yet what caused the fire.
