TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol conducted several DUI checkpoints Thursday night, June 30, 2011 in the Tulsa area.
In a news release, the patrol says 7 people were arrested and jailed for suspicion of DUI and one person was booked on felony warrants.
The OHP also issued 43 citations and warnings for various traffic violations.

The special emphasis began at 6:00 p.m. and ran until 3 a.m. at the two Tulsa locations.
Friday, July 1, 2011, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol will be out again conducting two DUI checkpoints and have extra troopers in what they term "high collision" areas around Tulsa.
Like Thursday night, Friday's DUI checkpoints will run from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
