TULSA, Oklahoma -- The seventh victim in a deadly head-on collision near Henryetta has died, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced Friday.
Tulsa resident Jorge Salas Jr, 29, was pronounced dead last Saturday at St. Johns Hospital. He, along with six others, was killed during a head-on collision on the Indian Turnpike June 3rd, 2011.
The six other victims are Vanessa Miller, 14, Sabrina Salas, 27, Luis Duralopez, 28, Anali Brina Salas, 1, Malik Gonzalez, 8, and Russel Bowden, 44. Five of the dead are from Tulsa; Bowden is from McAlester.
An accident report put the blame on the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet driven by 51-year-old Jorge Salas. The car, occupied by 6 of the 7 victims, overcorrected during a lane change and slammed into a Dodge pickup driven by Bowden.
Jorge Salas was critically injured during the accident.
None of the five victims riding in the Chevy were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
