Woman Killed In Four Vehicle Crash In Okfuskee County

A Norman woman was killed in a four car crash near Okemah Tuesday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

OKFUSKEE COUNTY – A Norman woman was killed in a four car crash near Okemah Tuesday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at the junction of U.S. 62 and State Highway 48, just west of Okemah about 5:15 p.m.

Troopers said Donald Dunkin, 74, was driving north on State Highway 48 when he failed to yield at a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck, driven by Anthony Lee, 46.

According to the report, both vehicles were pushed into a third car driving south on State Highway 48. The third vehicle was then pushed backwards into a fourth vehicle, troopers said.

Troopers said Dunkin was transported to the hospital in stable condition. His passenger, Geneva Dunkin, 69, died at the scene.

Lee was transported to the hospital, but later released.

According to OHP, the driver of the third vehicle, Johnny Jones, 61, suffered minor injuries. One of his passengers, Rhonda Jones, 62, was transported to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition. Another passenger, Kialand Poole, 7, was not injured.

The driver of the fourth vehicle, Jonathan Ross, 26, was not injured. His four passengers, Johnna Jones, 30, Cayden Aultman, 11, Randon Ross, 1, and Jacob Morris, 10, were not injured.
