UNDATED -- The safety of cell phones has come into question. Scientists now say there is a risk of cancer, especially for people who talk more than 30 minutes a day.
An international panel of experts just released the new findings.
The study shows cell phone use can increase your risk for developing brain cancer.
One neurosurgeon in the study explains it this way. He says putting a cell phone, directly up to your head is like a microwave cooking food.
"When you put it next to your brain it's vibrating the water molecules in your brain, it could be potentially heating, cooking the brain over time," said Dr. Keith Black.
The findings have some people changing their habits, like using the speakerphone instead.
