TULSA, Oklahoma -- The devastation that hit Joplin Sunday has affected hundreds of people and many of their pets as well.
The Owasso Humane Society and the SAHO Animal Hospital have teamed up to collect supplies for the Joplin Humane Society which is being inedited with lost pets.
Inspired by the rescue of Joplin the kitty by an Collinsville K-9 Unit in Joplin, the OHS and the SAHO hope animal lovers will come to the aid of the hundreds of pets placed in an emergency shelter.

The organization provided an updated list of what's needed:
• Sharpies
• Black bic pens
• Trash bags
• Clorox wipes
• Kitty litter/pans
• Leashes
• Food/water bowls
• Bird cages/food
• Paper towels
• Extension cords
• Towels
• Fleece bedding
• Cash donation at Joplin Humane Society Facebook Page.
They are also collecting items for the animal shelter in Guthrie, Oklahoma, which was destroyed in Sunday's storm.
You can drop off supplies at the SAHO on 86th Street in Owasso. You can also donate directly to the Joplin Humane Society.
