TULSA, Oklahoma -- A group of off-duty city of Tulsa firefighters headed up to Joplin Friday morning to help in the clean up and recovery efforts in the southwest Missouri community.
The volunteers say they will be whatever assistance is necessary including helping Joplin residents search for belongings and other recovery services.
Earlier in the week, another group of Tulsa firefighters were dispatched to Joplin to help with search and rescue efforts.

Other city of Tulsa employees were dispatched to Joplin on Monday as well. The Tulsa Police Department sent one disaster relief team, which consists of eight officers.
