Let’s not look too far ahead at Bedlam football being for the Big 12 South. If OU loses at Baylor and Texas A&M at home to Nebraska then Bedlam will be for bragging rights only. That’s assuming the Cowboys don’t slip up at Kansas.

So far so good for the OSU and OU basketball teams. The Cowboys have beaten Houston Baptist and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The Sooners beat Coppin State, survived North Carolina Central and looked pretty good (thanks to Cade Davis) against Texas Southern.

They’ll both be lucky to still be unbeaten in 10 days.

The Cowboys will host Nicholls State Sunday. The Colonels lost by one point at Houston (coached by former OSU assistant James Dickey) and beat LSU in Baton Rouge.

After that it’s out to Anaheim where the Cowboys get DePaul in the first round of the 76 Classic. After that it’s Virginia Tech or Cal Northridge in the second round and then a potential matchup with Stanford, UNLV, Murray State or Tulsa.

The Sooners are headed to the Maui Invitational and get Kentucky right out of the gate. They’ll face either Virginia or Washington in game number two.

The ride may be a bit rocky, but we’ll know much more in 10 days.
