So game 4 is Saturday and you’re wondering what to expect. Here are a few thoughts on what I think will happen:
1. Kobe Bryant will score at least 30 points. I think he was humbled by Thursday’s performance. A 2 of 11 fourth quarter is un-Kobelike. The Thunder sent three defenders at him, including Kevin Durant. He’s injured and doesn’t have the lift he once did, but I just have a feeling.
2. The Lakers will not attempt 31 3’s while 7-footers Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum combine to get only 19 shots. That’s just not going to happen. The Thunder blocked 17 shots in game 2. They had better be prepared to do it again.
3. Russell Westbrook will continue to be the most dominant player in the series. Kobe and K-D are the stars. Russ has been the best player. He gets to the rim at will and has knocked down open looks. Westbrook has been terrific at taking over when he needs to, but not forcing the issue.
4. The game will be decided by three points or less. I’m not saying who’ll win, but it will be close. It’s the only first-round series in which every game has been decided by single digits.

May 26th, 2011
