On Wednesday, it was Fred Gulley’s turn. The freshman from Fayetteville had a career-high 8 points to go with 4 rebounds in 30 minutes of action, with only 1 turnover. Gulley has been offensively challenged in his first year, but he’s been a solid defender, and against Texas A&M he made smart plays. Just like Nick Sidorakis at Kansas State, Gulley helped fill the void left when Ray Penn went down with his injury. The Cowboys will need that effort just about every night of the rest of the season, even with James Anderson playing at a high level.
