Urban Meyer won't be resigning at Florida after all, just taking an indefinite leave of absence.  A "spirited practice" with his team on Sunday helped him alter his stance from stepping down...to just stepping away for a while.

It took right at about an hour, once the news first broke Saturday that Meyer would leave after the Sugar Bowl, for Bob Stoops’ name to be mentioned.

On ESPN, analyst Mark May was asked what kind of a coach Florida should look for, and May suggested Stoops by name as perhaps a first choice.  Not that it’s surprising given Stoops’ success in Norman.  Florida message boards already have posts calling for AD Jeremy Foley to try and pry the former Florida defensive coordinator away from OU.

It’s an annual rite.  First Notre Dame, then Florida.  Bit at least now Stoops can enjoy getting his team ready for Stanford...with a little folklorico music surrounding the process.
