HAMILTON, Ont. – The Oklahoma City Barons faltered in the final two periods, giving Hamilton the opportunity to take a 2-1 victory on Saturday in Hamilton, Ontario.
The Bulldogs have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
The only goal for the Barons in the game came from Brad Moran at the 17:18 mark in the first period. Colin McDonald picked up the assist on the goal.
Hamilton’s two scores actually came within a minute of each other.
At the end of the first, Andreas Engqvist centered the puck and it bounced off the skate of defenseman Richard Petiot and in for a score with three seconds remaining.
Less than a minute into the second, Nigel Dawes sent one in during a power play to take the 2-1 lead, which was all the Bulldogs would need.
Martin Gerber stopped 21 of 23 in the goal for the Barons.
The Bulldogs have four power play goals on 12 chances through the first two games, whereas the Barons don’t have a power play goal in six attempts.
The series now moves to Oklahoma City for games three, four and five (if necessary).
All three games face off at 7:05 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.
