Barons Stay Alive in Playoff Race with Win over San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO -- The Oklahoma City Barons stayed alive in the playoff hunt Friday with a 7-2 win over the San Antonio Rampage.
Colin McDonald recorded his second hat trick of the season with his four-goal performance, including three back-to-back goals between the first and second periods. Teammates Ben Ondrus, Milan Kytnar and Mark Arcobello contributed the other four scores in the win over San Antonio (39-32-4-3).
The Rampage offense never really got going, their goals coming in the 10th minute of the first by Alexandre Pickard and the ninth minute of the third from Dane Byers.
Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers (16-13) notched his third consecutive win for Oklahoma City (39-28-2-9) by stopping 19 of San Antonio’s 21 shots. Matt Cline (26-22) lost the outing, allowing seven goals on 38 shots for the outing.
Oklahoma City can clinch a playoff spot at 7:05 p.m. in Austin, Texas against the Texas Stars.
