STILLWATER, Okla. – OSU coach Mike Gundy said the Cowboys’ first major scrimmage of the spring on Wednesday at Boone Pickens Stadium worked out well.
“I thought we had a good day,” Gundy said. “Everybody competed in all three phases. We got about 115 plays in our scrimmage today. We do need to get more intensity from some of our young players.”
Gundy said several players such as wide receiver Josh Cooper and defensive tackle Nigel Nicholas showed positive moments during the scrimmage.
“I thought that both of the young quarterbacks in Clint Chelf and Johnny Deaton made some good plays,” he said. “J.W. Walsh showed some progress. The young offensive linemen made some progress and the backs ran well.”
