STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State baseball team won its consecutive low-scoring game Sunday 2-0 over New Mexico.

Coming off walk-off wins in the first two games of the series, the Cowboys (12-3) had another close one on their hands. They took the lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Zach Johnson, and Davis Duren drove home a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

That was all the run support the OSU pitchers received, and that was all they needed. Mike Strong gave up just three hits in 7.1 innings while striking out eight batters and walking only one. Gabe Weidenaar was credited with a save after holding New Mexico hitless and recording the final five outs.

The victory gave the Cowboys a series sweep, but they only won the three games by a total of four runs. Devin Shines won the first game with a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth, and Johnson won the second with a sacrifice fly in the 11th inning.

OSU now has won six consecutive games since suffering its only back-to-back losses of the season. The Cowboys will remain in Stillwater to host their next game at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Central Arkansas.
