TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Oilers are nearing the end of the regular season and the team is going out with a bang.

The Oilers had won 4 straight games coming into Tuesday night’s battle with the top team in the Turner Conference, the Rapid City Rush.

Early on, it was the goalies who stole the show. Rapid City’s Tim Boron and Tulsa’s Trevor Cann each gave up nothing in the first period. Both goalies were also strong through most of the 2nd. But, with just 4 minutes left in the 2nd, CHL player of the week Michel Beausoleil finally got one into the net to give Tulsa a 1-0 lead.

Then, in the 3rd period, both teams finally got the offense going. Luke Lucyk, Tom Fritsche, and John Mori all scored for the Oilers in the 3rd. And while they did give up a couple of goals, it didn’t matter as they ended up beating Rapid City 4-2.

This was the Oilers 5th straight win and while they’re still in 3rd place in the Berry Conference, they’re now just 1 point behind 2nd place Texas. Tulsa will be back on the ice on Thursday when they host Dayton.
