NEW ORLEANS – The Tulsa women’s basketball team suffered its 11th consecutive loss Sunday 73-62 to Tulane.
The Golden Hurricane (5-18, 1-14) started the game on a 6-0 run, but that was their significant lead of the day. Tulane (20-8, 9-6) responded with a run of its own to take the lead four minutes into the game, and the Green Wave coasted from there.
Tulane carried a 37-27 lead into halftime and kept Tulsa from mounting much of a comeback in the second half. The Hurricane never drew closer than nine points.
The TU loss came despite the fact that three players scored in double figures. Tatum Beer scored 17, Denise Lewis had 16 and Taleya Mayberry 15.
The Hurricane has gone more than a month without a win, with its last coming on Jan. 16 against Southern Mississippi. TU will return home to host UTEP in its final regular season game at 7 p.m. Thursday.
