NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma softball team will play its first home game of the season Wednesday against St. Gregory’s after a dominant run in the Kajikawa Classic.
The Sooners went 5-1 in the season-opening tournament and achieved its five wins by a combined score of 44-4. Michelle Gascoigne pitched a perfect game against Appalachian State, and OU run-ruled Arizona, the No. 2 team in the country.
Fans who attend Wednesday’s game will receive free 2011 schedule cards, magnets and posters. Hot dogs and sodas will also be available for 50 cents as long as supplies last, and 10 fans will win tickets to The Preview featuring Bedlam on March 5 in Oklahoma City.
Wednesday’s home opener is sandwiched between more tournaments and is the only game the Sooners will play in Oklahoma until The Preview. After facing St. Gregory’s, OU will travel to Las Cruces, N.M., for the Troy Cox Classic before heading to Cathedral City, Calif., for the Cathedral City Classic.
